Who Can Take Class
Classes are for adults or teenagers of all genders and over 15 years old. You must be able to perform some moderate exercise like jogging and getting down and up from the ground. You must be able comfortable making physical contact with other people and performing stressful drills. If you have an injury or physical limitation, it is your job to know your limits and decide if you can participate.
What to Wear and Bring
-
Wear or bring comfortable clothes that you can workout in and sweat in. Wearing a shirt that you don't mind getting roughed up is a good idea. There is a changing area and bathrooms on site so you can change before and/or after as you need. You might want a dry shirt to change into after class.
-
The floor has padded mats and we will be training without shoes.
-
You do not need any gear for your trial class, however:
-
If you have a sports mouth-guard, bring it. Everyone should have a mouth-guard with them if they decide to take classes beyond the intro class. We are not hitting each other in the face but our drills are physical and it only takes one accidental knock to chip your teeth.
-
If you gloves for punching, bring them. We have some gloves for people to use until they can get their own, but you will want your own ASAP for hygiene and a custom fit that prevents injuries.
-
If you have groin protection, wear it. We will not be aiming to kick each other in the groin, but we simulate strikes there and accidents do happen under stress. If you have male body parts, groin protection is essential for regular training, I never step into a Krav Maga gym without it.
-
-
Bring water and maybe towel. We will sweat, this is a physical class.
